![]() ![]() Our goal is to safely transport as many passengers as possible to their destinations and we do not want to leave riders behind. ![]() Given the high demand for Unitrans service, especially at peak times, as well as budget constraints that limit our ability to fund more buses and more bus drivers, there is no question that some buses are very crowded. The full text of the regulation is included at the end of this answer. On behalf of the City of Davis, Unitrans provides a regularly scheduled, fixed-route passenger bus service throughout the City and is subject to the rules that apply to urban transit services, not those that apply to school bus services. Unitrans follows all of the rules and regulations that apply to the provision of public transportation services in order to maintain the safety of our passengers. Please try to be extra careful to check that you have all your personal items with you prior to leaving the bus. Please note that there are different buses with different drivers on each line throughout the day, and it may not be possible for us to track it down until it is turned in the next day. It is against Unitrans policy to ask drivers over the radio to search a bus for a lost item as it may jeopardize the security of the item.Īlthough we will do our best to help you find a lost item, Unitrans is not responsible for any items left on a bus. If an item is left on a bus, passengers are allowed to search the bus for their lost item. Because of space limitations, they are only kept in the main office for a week. High value items (such as cell phones, wallets, purses, and Aggie ID cards) are turned in to the UC Davis Police Department (the day after they are found on the bus).Īll other items (such as books, keys, umbrellas, jackets, mugs) are brought to the Unitrans office at 5 South Hall (the day after they are found on the bus). ![]() Starting August 8th, the line will extend to 6:10 pm.The Lost and Found policy at Unitrans has recently changed to be consistent with the UC Davis campuswide procedures. The route follows the regular weekday G Line route. The weekend G Line will run every hour, on the hour from 9:00am to 5:40pm with a 10-minute offset starting after noon. This is unfortunately not possible in the afternoons.Ĭheck out the schedule and route map at the Unitrans website for more information.Īs of August 8th, 2015 the G Line will be replacing the J-Line for weekend services. This helps keep the buses running on time, and the passenger loads down to a managable level. Passengers outbound from Campus who need the Anderson Plaza stop are encouraged to take the F line which is almost always less crowded.Įxtra buses ("tripper buses") are often sent out on this line in the mornings, to help pick up the most popular stops, such as the Almondwood, La Salle and the Synagogue (formally Church) stops. In 2004, there were over 800,000 one-way trips recorded on the G Line (at which time it ran both to the Silo and MU Terminals). At the bottom of the hour double-decker buses are usually providing service to the MU.Ĭonsidering that North Davis has the highest population density out of any area of Davis, it makes sense that this line has the highest ridership of all of the Unitrans lines and is subject to frequent overcrowding at peak hours. It provides service four times an hour during the day to the MU terminal. The G Bus Line is a Unitrans route servicing Anderson Road, Alvarado Avenue, and Sycamore Lane. ![]()
